TSA vision:

By providing high quality, innovative CPD and leadership development to ensure excellent practice is shared to enable all schools to develop together.

Through robust evaluation and continual development of our practice across the Alliance, we will ensure all children secure excellent personal and educational outcomes.

Objectives:

  • Recruit and train high quality entrants to the teaching profession and into the alliance
  • Provide trainee teachers with the highest quality of teacher training
  • Identify and deploy expertise across the alliance to facilitate and deliver training and support in various settings and contexts
  • Develop capacity to improve teaching and learning across the alliance
  • Engage in action research and development where appropriate and relevant to inform and improve pedagogy and professional development across all phases
  • Promote the development of leadership skills within and beyond the alliance to secure the development and appointment of new leaders within schools

Unique selling point of your programme:

Trainees experience a teaching training programme set in a diverse semi-rural setting. The Professional Studies element of the training takes place across all of these alliance schools so that trainees are learning very our very best staff. We offer enrichment opportunities from leadership pathways to half-day experiences in subjects beyond specialisms. The programme also includes experience of special schools, grammar schools, selective entry, single sex schools, 11-16 and 11-18.

Professional pathway beyond ITT:

If employed by alliance schools following qualification, staff are eligible for all courses and training run by the Shires Alliance such as NPQML, NPQSL, Mental Health training, 'Back to Basics', etc.
