TSA vision:

As one of the first Teaching Schools we have cultivated a highly successful SCITT route into teaching for both Primary and Secondary phases. This course includes a PGCE as well as QTS but is completely school-centred. Our aim is to continue to lead on school improvement within a diverse range of schools in the West Midlands. We do this by recruiting people with the potential to be outstanding trainee teachers, then NQTs and then leaders in our schools and beyond. We have seen over many years that this 'grow your own' philosophy is forming a strong community of excellent practitioners and furthermore a strong network of support for new cohorts of training teachers.

Unique selling point of your programme:

Led by practising teachers with Associate Lecturer status from BCU, allowing us the ability to teach a Postgraduate programme completely within our school. We provide extensive specialist subject development and have a track record of outstanding leadership and management. The SCITT team have flexible timetables to be able to support you in placement schools and develop you as an individual over the course of the year.

Professional pathway beyond ITT:

Many of our Associate Teachers (trainees) go on to work within our partner schools. They can also access a range of CPLD programmes including NQT, NQT+1, Leading Change, Good Practitioners Programme, Advanced Practitioners Programme, Gateway to Leadership and more.
